Get Your Girlfriend into Gaming- Not as impossible as it sounds. (LINK)

May 13th 2008 14:12
Okay so I recently stole my brothers XBOX 360 How To Handbook-Magazine Issue for June 24, 2008. And Of course I go directly to the Girliest thing I can in the book- Beside the Bioshock Plasmid Cupcakes, and the Papercraft- Weighted Campanion Cube covered in Hearts! I see an article. 'Get Your Girlfriend into Gaming' , and of course I need to read it.. See if my boyfriend is going about this the right way or not. Since he's a major gamer, and I'm well incapable of even walking around and looking where i'm going in Halo.

Gamer, Love, Shirt, Xbox,

This ariticle is pretty amazing, Written by Dan Amrich and Katrin Auch, it basically has the step by step guild to slowly get her to start gaming again. The quick overview of the steps-

1. Determind why it is she doesn't already play games. What's the cause.
2. Try buying some girly-games. Something old school that most everyone has played once int their life.
3. Be patient with her. Xbox can certainly be overwhelming to begin with. Especially when your use to the ease of the Nintendo controller the Xbox Seems like a massive jump into the future.
4. Don't be negative, I will be frustrating, but you really need to give her a break after all she's attempting to do what you like.
5. Find games you think she might like... Do they have cute sexy players she can play? Is she into a War like game or Sci-Fi game. It's best to try all and see what she likes best.

6. Find a game in which you can both play together on a team.. instead of one where she's off on her own. This will make her more confortable learning from the start.
7.Take everything slow. You can't expect her to want to play 6 hours straight of gaming- after all she's not a total gamer like you.
8. You might find that if she's working on something- i.e. gaming. Do something for her in return. Try learning something new she like.

And my favorite line in this article-

"Two hours of side-by-side gaming on Xbox is worth two hours of watching a fuzzy romantic comedy, isn't it?"
